Tyson Fury's dad John has urged his son to “bin” his WBC heavyweight championship belt and just fight Anthony Joshua. The Gypsy King was scheduled to face his fellow Brit for a unification bout on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.
But an arbitration court ruled that Deontay Wilder, Fury’s last opponent, had won the right to a trilogy bout - pulling the plug on the fight with the IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion.
AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn has taken aim at Fury’s promoters Bob Arum and Frank Warren following the collapse of the fight. Fury Sr, though, has added his voice to the complaints against the team managing his son and admitted his son concedes the prize for a shot at the big fight.
