Film director Joel Schumacher has died at the age of 80 following a year-long battle with cancer. He was best known for hit movies including Lost Boys and St.
Elmo's Fire. Schumacher also took over from Tim Burton as director of the Batman franchise. He worked with Val Kilmer, Jm Carey and Nicole Kidman on Batman Forever which grossed more than $300million worldwide.
This was followed up with the movie Batman & Robin with George Clooney in the lead role and Arnold Schwarzenegger playing villain Mr Freeze.
