Rangers star Joe Aribo put in a stellar display as Nigeria swept Sudan aside, winning praise from both sets of fans. The midfielder started his second consecutive Africa Cup of Nations match helping the Super Eagles to a 3-1 win.

Samuel Chukwueze opened the scoring after just four minutes, slotting home smartly after the ball fell to him in the box. Moses Simon made it two on the stroke of half-time when a free-kick from Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho was diverted in the penalty area and dropped kindly for him at the back post.

With Nigeria cruising he was withdrawn just after the hour mark, after which Sudan pulled one back from the spot, but not before drawing the adulation of fans from both club and country. Here's some of the social media reaction to his showing. One Super Eagles fan wrote: "The confidence with which Joe Aribo is playing, I love it."A Rangers supporter described the display as "world class" while another felt he'd been the side's "best player" and a third warned "If we can keep Aribo past this month it will honestly be a miracle".A Nigeria fanatic described him as "the Nigerian Kevin De Bruyne" and suggested he should be signed by Barcelona.Another claimed the Ibrox favourite is better than Paul Pogba, while one user felt Aribo was "bossing that midfield almost by himself, so good".The display inevitably led to a number of Premier League fans clamouring for their club to sign the midfielder, with Arsenal and Liverpool fans calling for him
