James Eugene Carrey (born January 17, 1962) is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, writer, and artist. He is known for his energetic slapstick performances. Carrey first gained recognition in America in 1990 after landing a recurring role in the sketch comedy television series In Living Color.
His first leading roles in motion pictures came with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994), Dumb and Dumber (1994), The Mask (1994), and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995), as well portraying the Riddler in Batman Forever (1995) and the lead role in Liar Liar (1997).
He gained attention starring in serious roles in The Truman Show (1998) and Man on the Moon (1999), with each garnering him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
JIM Carrey has been accused of "sexually assaulting" Alicia Silverstone when she was just 19. The comedian, 60, kissed the then-teenage actress full on the mouth while accepting his Best Comedic Performance gong at the 1997 MTV Movie Awards.
A video has resurfaced of Jim, then 35, walking up to the stage as he accepted the award for his role in Cable Guy. He grabbed Alicia's face with hands and planted a kiss on her mouth.
They then broke away and Alicia stepped awkwardly to the side, looking somewhat shaken. In his speech, Jim recited lyrics from George Thorogood & The Destroyers song Bad to the Bone into the microphone then burping.
He also tried to kiss Will, 53, after he was announced as the winner for MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Kiss. Will pushed Jim off while making his way to the stage to collect his gong.
