Jet2 has issued a warning to passengers flying to and from Madeira as the island experiences “stormy conditions”. The airline has said that there could be “some disruption” to flights operating today, Sunday, December 22, and tomorrow, Monday, December 23.
Passengers flying to or from Madeira Airport (FNC) are advised to check in as usual, although Jet2 warned that there could be “longer waits than normal” either in the terminal or onboard the aircraft.
The airline will contact those affected by the disruption directly. In a statement on its website, Jet2 said: “Our operations team continue to monitor the Madeira forecast to ensure we have the most up-to-date information for all Jet2.com departing and arriving customers on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024, and Monday, December 23rd, 2024. “The Met Office has warned that the stormy conditions are due to continue in Madeira at times for the coming days.
If you are travelling with Jet2.com we plan to operate our flights as close to schedule as possible, however, there may be some disruption should the weather deteriorate.” Jet2 said: “We will, where possible, board all flights for an on-time departure, however, please be prepared for a longer than normal wait either in the terminal or onboard the aircraft to depart." The airline added: “Jet2.com would like to apologise in advance for any disruption you may experience.
