Jeremy Vine is the latest celebrity to hit out at cancel culture, saying it can be difficult as a broadcaster and presenter and that he has to "ignore the dangers of it".
The Radio 2 presenter talks about the modern phenomenon of ‘cancelling’ someone for saying something you don’t like in a new chat with the Radio Times : “I do worry about it because it seems to be capricious and unfair: you’ll wake up one morning and have been cancelled.” He continues: “In a way, as a broadcaster, you have to ignore the dangers of it because if you are constantly scared of your own shadow and monitoring what your guests are saying in a schoolmasterly way, it’s not the same show.” The former Strictly star insists: “You can’t let yourself worry about it.”
