Jay Slater was reportedly driven across Tenerife by a man known locally as 'Johnny Vegas', according to a TV investigator who has traced the teenager's footsteps. The 19 year old has been missing since June 17 after he was last seen leaving an Airbnb and decided to walk back to his own accommodation in Los Cristianos.
It's thought that the young bricklayer missed his bus and chose to make the return journey on foot, which would take approximately 11 hours. The search for the teenager was called off by Tenerife's Guardia Civil after helicopters, drones and search dogs were deployed to find him.
Now TV detective, Mark Williams-Thomas, who is conducting his own investigation separate from the official police response, has provided an update on the missing teenager's last movements.
The detective told journalists that he had interviewed a man who had driven with Jay to the rental property in Masca after meeting him in Playa de las Americas in the south of the island, reports the Manchester Evening News.
