In-form Jack Butland could make his return to the England fold as soon as next month, according to reports.And it's believed under-the-radar meeting with Gareth Southgate at Rangers' training ground in September has helped shoot him up the pecking order. Record Sport first revealed earlier this month that Butland was under consideration for a recall having revived his career since his summer move to Ibrox.
England goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson told us that Butland was being watched closely and on Gareth Southgate's radar ahead of the Euros in the summer.
And now Sky Sports report that his continued impressive form as Philippe Clement's number one has him firmly in contention for March friendlies with Brazil and Belgium with Southgate yet to decide on his goalkeeping group.
Sky also report that Butland's re-emergence comes after he took it upon himself to meet with Southgate while England camped at the Rangers Training Centre for the September heritage match with Scotland.
