Former centre-back Jaap Stam praised Manchester United ace Lisandro Martinez ahead of his second season at Old Trafford. Martinez copied United manager Erik ten Hag in swapping Ajax for M16 last summer, joining the club in a deal worth more than £50million.
The Argentine soon settled into life in England, establishing himself as a key figure in the manager's plans to try and resurrect the club's fortunes.
His no-nonsense approach and love for the game was quickly absorbed by the supporters, meaning he became an instant fans' favourite.
However, his campaign came to a premature end in April when he fractured a metatarsal in the 2-2 draw against Sevilla in the Europa League at Old Trafford.
