Kate Garraway’s third documentary aired on Tuesday 26 March and viewers praise the Good Morning Britain presenter for an extraordinary and emotional watch.
The documentary entitled Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story, revealed the final year of Derek Draper’s life as well as Kate’s caring responsibilities.
Kate also opened up about her mounting debts as a result of Derek’s care needs which cost “£4000 a week”, as well as her fight to receive help from the care system..
During the film Kate admitted that becoming Derek’s carer affected their relationship, as she admitted: "I have accepted that [my future as a carer], but how that translates into the relationship is a work in progress.” Kate continued: "Sometimes you show love with a big bunch of flowers, sometimes it's bringing a cup of tea at the right moment, and he can't do any of those things for me. “So he's trying to work out how to love me - I know he loves me, but how does he show that?
