Cat Deeley is quickly settling into her new role on the This Morning sofa, and she's been getting to know her new co-stars and team at ITV.

One member of the This Morning team managed to reduce Cat to tears, however. The TV star, 47, met the show's new puppy Buddy on Tuesday, 12 March, which really tugged on her heart strings.

Buddy is an 8-week old support puppy providing autism assistance, who was introduced on the show last month. The adorable puppy came into the studio during Tuesday's show, with Cat kneeling down to play with him in a sweet moment.

Buddy is a yellow Labrador puppy who will eventually be trained to help adults and children with autism. Speaking about the dog, Cat said: "Now before all of that, he’s the newest member of the This Morning family, apart from us." Her co-host Ben Shephard then added: "Apart from us, but I didn’t make you cry this morning like Buddy did this morning, she only met him a few moments ago and she burst into tears." Cat went on to admit: "Yes I’ve already cried so he’s actually having to hold me back right now so I can read lines and do everything," with Ben adding: "Every time Buddy whimpers or squeals, you squeal too." Cat and Ben, 49, had been interviewing guest Rachel and her son Thomas, 12, whose life has been transformed thanks to his dog, Megan the Cavapoo.
