ITV This Morning producers have been left "pulling their hair out" in frustration after rumoured new host Cat Deeley reportedly turned down the offer to replace Holly Willoughby as a permanent presenter on the show. The news comes after reports that ITV bosses had settled their decision to have Ben Shepherd and Cat as their replacements for Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby who quit the show earlier this year.

ITV bosses have been on the hunt for the most dynamic presenting duo they can find since Holly followed her former pal Schofield out the door after presenting on the daytime show for almost 15 years. The 42-year-old quit the programme months after Phil sensationally made his exit after admitting to an "unwise, but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague at the ITV show while he was still married to his wife.

Ever since then, a "revolving door of presenters" have fronted the show as ITV bosses search for full-time replacements, the Mirror reports. These include Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, Emma Willis, Christine Lampard, Rylan Clark and Dermot O'Leary who have all had their turn at standing in for the show as bosses figured out who would take over the permanent role. It's now believed that the ITV show was left "gutted" after Cat chose to return to America to host So You Think You Can Dance instead of hosting This Morning. The presenter was one of the many guest hosts on the programme last month and was a huge hit with viewers.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team.
