ITV's Good Morning Britain has confirmed the first replacement for Ben Shephard, after he stepped down from the show. Long-standing presenter Adil Ray is set to take on the job as host of the popular morning programme.

Ben, 49, was revealed as a new face of This Morning alongside Cat Deeley last month and will be taking over from Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Last year, viewers were surprised when Phillip announced he was leaving the show after confirming he was in a relationship with a younger co-worker while still married.

Not long after, Holly also announced she was stepping down after 14 years. Mainstream presenters like Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, Dermot O'Leary and Rylan Clark filled the gap for a while.
