Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly praised her co-star and on-screen father Nicholas Day for his role as the latest villain in the village, Anthony Fox.

Nicholas Day joined the ITV soap in 2024 as the estranged father of Ruby Fox-Miligan. When he first entered the Dales it was unclear as to why Ruby appeared so frightened of Anthony until flashbacks aired that showed Ruby was the victim of sexual abuse at the hands of Anthony.

In recent episodes, it was revealed that Anthony was Steph's biological father - not her grandfather. Once Caleb learnt of him fathering Steph and the abuse he inflicted upon a young Ruby, he confronted Anthony by taking him to a secluded barn and play Russian roulette with a gun.

While Anthony left the barn without a single bullet wound, viewers watched as Aaron Dingle followed him to the depot and decided to confront the elderly man for his heinous crimes.
