Ireland’s Foreign Minister has accused No10 of ‘spin’ and untruths as fury mounts at Boris Johnson's plans to break international law over Brexit.
Simon Coveney furiously dismissed reports the EU wanted a "blockade" of goods between Britain and Northern Ireland when the transition period ends on December 31.
Under Boris Johnson's Withdrawal Agreement, some goods travelling between Britain and Belfast will need EU customs forms and tariffs, because they might enter the EU later on.
But the Prime Minister now wants to give UK ministers the power to override these - instead of the goods being decided by a UK-EU joint committee.
