The 43-year-old, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, tied the knot with rugby star Mike in a ceremony at the modest Canongate Kirk church on July 30, 2011 surrounded by their family and friends.The pair, who began dating after meeting during England's Rugby World Cup campaign in Australia in 2003, then partied the night away at the Queen's official Scottish residence at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.On their wedding eve they also threw a boat party on the Royal Yacht Britannia and partied until the early hours at the reception.The Scottish location is believed to have been selected due to Zara's love of her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth's Balmoral estate and her time at Gordonstoun School in Moray.Zara and Mike's big day came just three months after Prince William and Kate Middleton exchanged vows during a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey, which was watched by an audience of over 36m.However, known for their down to earth nature and love of partying, the Tindalls seemingly had no interest in competing with the Waleses' extravagant nuptials and opted for something far more understated.Choosing to wed in Edinburgh also appeared to not be the only typical Scottish like element of their unconventional royal wedding as it was reported their best man also arrived with a black eye and they ordered a vodka flowing fountain over chocolate.
