Marc Malkin Senior Editor, Culture and Events “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Jinkx Monsoon captured the mood at Thursday night’s A Dance Party for Kamala at the iconic West Hollywood gay bar The Abbey with a simple question for the crowd. “Doesn’t it feel good right now to have a sliver of hope in these dark fucking times?” she said to applause and cheers.
There were no stump speeches during the event about policies. No politicians were asked to speak to the crowd. Instead, Monsoon was one of only four people who spoke at the three-hour event, joining Jesse Tyler Ferguson on stage followed by Harris national finance committee members Todd Hawkins and Justin Mikita.
