He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reported to be on their way to the Netherlands later this week to attend the Invictus Games on their first trip together since leaving for the US.

It is seeming unlikely though that the couple will venture to the UK during their European visit to see the Windsor family, Royal experts have said.These predictions come as Harry has kept silent on the Queen ’s wish in a statement given in February to have Camilla take position as Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes King.The 37 year old’s silence and general distance from the Royal family may be in result of his reportedly rocky relationship with Camilla, whom Royal author Tina Brown has said Harry "can't stand" as its been predicted this will be highlighted in his upcoming memoir.

"Can you imagine how excruciating it would be over dinner if somebody was to ask what’s in the soon to be published Random House book about them?” Camilla’s connection with Harry certainly didn’t start out smoothly as she was introduced into the family a mere few years after his mother, Princess Diana died, which was an understandably traumatic time for the then young teenager.
