A woman let 10 cats starve to death inside a filthy flat. The animals were so neglected that some of them were found partially eaten by others when they were discovered.
Lynsey Alcock, 24, of no fixed address, has been banned from keeping animals for five years and fined £50. She was also handed a 26-week custodial sentence - suspended for 12 months during a sentence hearing at Wigan Magistrates Court on Friday (November 22).
Cats' skulls, jaws, legs and tails were found scattered around the property in Beech Close, Skelmersdale, by the RSPCA who described the scene as "utterly heartbreaking".
The water in the sink and toilet had been drunk dry and some of the cats had partially eaten others in an attempt to stay alive.
