Inquest hears cause of death of tragic man, 40, after body found at Manchester car wash

A man tragically found lying dead on land near a car wash died as a result of 'toxicity due to heroin and cocaine use', an inquest hearing was told.

The body of Craig Ellis, who was 40, was discovered by staff arriving for work at a hand car wash and valeting centre on Hyde Road in east Manchester on November 14 last year.

An inquest into Mr Ellis' death was opened and adjourned by a coroner at Manchester Coroner's Court on Friday morning, July 21.

Emergency services were called, he said, but Mr Ellis was confirmed to have died at the scene, near Hyde Road's junction with Bennett Street on the border of West Gorton and Ardwick.
