A boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in south Manchester. Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on Moseley Road in Fallowfield at around 6.05pm yesterday (Wednesday).
Police officers put a cordon in place on a stretch of the busy road. The boy, aged 9, was taken to hospital from the scene. The Manchester Evening News understands that the driver remained on the scene.
No arrests were made. The cordon remained in place for several hours into last night as investigations were carried out. Pictures show officers stationed on the scene, with a black car pictured within the police tape.
In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 6.05pm yesterday (Wednesday 2 August 2023, officers responded to reports of a collision between a car and a child on Moseley Road, Manchester. "A 9-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
