Developers behind plans to create a huge £1.7bn innovation district in Manchester city centre have unveiled new images of what the finished project could look like as a public consultation opens.
As part of a joint venture between The University of Manchester and Bruntwood SciTech, the ID Manchester district would be nestled by the Mancunian Way and Piccadilly Station.
It could see some 4 million square feet of land transformed into an education and retail district alongside a substantial amount of residential homes.
Illustrative masterplans unveiled last month highlighted that some 2 million of those square feet would be earmarked for commercial uses and would sit alongside the creation of 1,500 new homes.
