The health secretary has warned the public to continue to stay indoors this weekend despite the predicted warm weather. In Friday's government press briefing, Matt Hancock shared a sobering message to those thinking about spending time outside in the sun.
He said: "We are set for a warm weekend but the disease is still spreading and we absolutely cannot afford to relax the social distancing measures that we have in place. "We cannot relax our discipline now.
If we do, people will die." On a final note before passing the briefing over to his colleagues, he added: "So I end with the advice that we all know.
This advice is not a request, it is an instruction. Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives - and you will be doing your part."
