Millions were moved by the 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' poppy installation in 2014 at the Tower of London.Flooding the tower's moat in a sea of red, the work was made up of 888,246 individual ceramic poppies - each one positioned by a volunteer in memory of every British or Colonial life lost at the Front during the 1914-1918 conflict.'Weeping Window', a cascading flume of poppies, made up part of the installation together with 'Wave', a sweeping arch of thousands of poppy heads suspended on towering stalks.After the Tower of London exhibition - which drew an estimated five million visitors - Wave was exhibited at IWM North at Salford Quays between September and November, 2018.Weeping Window went.
