Iconic Love Island villa 'dumped as bosses search for new luxury property in Majorca'

Love Island bosses are allegedly axing the famous villa in search of a new one in a bid to “enhance the show.”The new property, which will replace the iconic sprawling villa located in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in the north-east of Spain, will remain on Majorca and is likely to be “moving to the foothills of mountains, by a lake or to the coast”.Season one and two of Love Island were filmed at a home in southern Majorca's Santanyi region.Speaking of the new villa, which will appear for the first time this summer when the eighth series of the ITV2 dating show returns to TV, a source told The Sun: "ITV bosses think this is the right moment to refresh this element of the show, just as they did in series three back in 2017."Bosses are conscious of the fact that this is also an opportunity to consider all the new elements they could introduce to enhance the show even further."They added: "For fans of Love Island this is huge news and they'll be eager to see what the new villa looks like and how much it could change the show."Despite teasing new elements to the upcoming series, the rumoured new property will reportedly still feature the famous firepit and luxurious swimming pool.The infamous house in Majorca has delivered a trove of amazing moments from the ITV2 dating show including Dancing On Ice star Liberty Poole's break up from Jake Cornish, Molly-Mae Hague and boxer Tommy Fury's love story and spawned a string of stars including Maura Higgins, Amber Gill and Olivia Attwood.Producers have already started recruiting for the next series and for the first time in the show's history, producers have allegedly changed the application process to allow non-binary, gay and bisexual people to apply to be on the programme.The ITV2.
