A woman has revealed she is fight fit at 59-years-old and has just won her first bodybuilding contest. Although she'll soon be collecting a pension, Allison Cantwell – who stands out as a 6ft tall – boasts a seriously toned physique, which helped her win Oregon, US's famous Cascadian Classic bodybuilding tournament.
Allison's journey comes after she shared how it was "intimidating" to first join the bodybuilding world. But now she has entered and won her first tournament, it seems she is set to continue as a performer.
She said: "It was intimidating to be the oldest competitor, but I was so proud of what I brought to the stage. Hearing my name called for those placements was a surreal moment. "So many nerves and thoughts are going through my head, but I just knew if I didn't hear my name first, I wouldn't last!
I'm nearly six feet tall naturally, so adding four more inches in stilettos? Yikes! Balance and grace don't come easily for me, even barefoot." Talking about her preparation for the competition, she added: "I was told to wear the heels around the house, while cooking or vacuuming, just to get used to them.
