A man was taken to hospital after being 'attacked with an axe' after a fight broke out in Radcliffe. Police were called to reports of two men fighting outside a property in Coronation Road at about 8.40am.
The incident happened as parents were dropping their children off at nearby Radcliffe Primary School. One of the men suffered a cut to his leg and arm during the incident.
He was taken to hospital but police say his injuries are not "life-threatening or life-changing". "He had blood on his arm," he explained. "He dropped his trousers and showed me a gash on his leg. "He said 'I've been attacked with an axe' and asked if I could phone the police or an ambulance." Moments later, the man said multiple police cars sped around the corner onto the street.
Eyewitnesses said officers taped off a cul-de-sac opposite the school. Forensic officers were later spotted working at the scene. "There were at least five police cars," said one neighbour. "They were here until lunchtime. "They cordoned everything off.
