A police officer has been arrested after a man left seriously injured in a horrific crash in Rochdale. Police were called to reports of the serious collision on Yorkshire Street at around 11pm on Friday (November 1).
The victim, a 42-year-old man, was struck as he was trying to cross the road. He remains in hospital fighting for his life, police said.
Enquiries have so far suggested three vehicles were travelling together along Yorkshire Street when the man was hit. Two vehicles suspected to have been involved are a blue Mercedes C250 and a silver Mini Cooper S Sport. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries. The incident has been referred to GMP's Professional Standards Directorate who are subsequently reviewing the incident and conducting investigations.
