A cleaning expert has shared her secret hack to cleaning your air fryer that won't end up damaging the popular gadget. As energy bills continue to sky-rocket across the UK, many of us will have opted to utilise the air fryer to cook our Christmas dinners instead of the money-guzzling oven, reports the Mirror. This gadget is the perfect thing when you don't need to cook for a large number of people, and they are much cheaper to run than ovens.

However, you may need to use it multiple times throughout the day to organise the dinner, meaning it will get rather dirty by the end of the night. One cleaning expert has shared the perfect way to clean up the appliance so you can ensure that it does not get damaged, and you can use it again for Boxing Day.Nancy Emery, a cleaning expert at Tap Warehouse, told The Express that you need to clean your air fryer in between each dish you cook, otherwise it will be a pain to cook later on.She said: "If you're cooking multiple dishes on the same day like you would at Christmas then you want to clean your air fryer properly in between recipes.

This is because the fat, juices or crumbs that naturally occur during the cooking process can impair the flavour of the dishes you cook after.

But also if left in the tray while you cook another dish, they will burn, harden and become really difficult to remove."To save the difficult cleaning task later, Nancy has recommended using liners in the gadget so they can catch any oil or fat, and make the dirt easy to dispose of in the bin.For those who might not have liners at their disposal, Nancy also has a "foolproof" way to clean your air fryer after all the madness of Christmas is over.
