After days of wet weather in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp, one star’s method of drying his clothes caused a minor hosiery emergency. The celebrities who were relaxing by the fire noticed that a pair of red socks left on a rock nearby had caught fire, and were now smoking and sporting large burnt holes.

It turned out that it was Reverend Richard Coles who was the unfortunate owner of the holey knitwear, which caused much amusement in camp.

Danny Jones joked about the incident in the Bush Telegraph, noting: "Reverend Richard’s socks were blowing holy smoke across the jungle!" Richard, who was a late arrival in the jungle camp along with Maura Higgins, has already become a favourite among both viewers and his fellow campmates.

He has had moving heart to hearts with a few of his fellow celebrities, including Oti Mabuse, who opened up to Richard about her daughter’s premature birth, during Tuesday's episode, 26 November.
