Taxi drivers from across the region met on Oxford Street at around 1pm today (Wednesday) to protest against plans to turn Greater Manchester into a 'Clean Air Zone'.They blocked the main road outside the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) offices with their cars for around an hour, stopping buses and other cars from getting through.Diversions were put in place for several bus services and police were forced to divert traffic away from the area.Cab drivers beeped their horns in unison during the peaceful protest before officers attempted to move them away from Oxford Street.But the taxi drivers were undeterred.
