The weather right now might not be inspiring you to pack a picnic and head to the seaside but Stockport's Merseyway is getting the summer off to a good start - with its own beach.
The shopping centre in Stockport town centre will be bringing back its popular 'Merseybay' outdoor beach with buckets, spades and deckchairs for families to enjoy during the school holidays.
The free-to-attend beach is back from Saturday, July 29 until Sunday, September 3 and will also encompass fun rides plus food and drink stalls. 'Merseybay' will also be hosting Activity Wednesdays, where children of all ages can enjoy a themed event from 12pm to 3pm.
And to mark the official launch of Stockport's own beach, the shopping centre has teamed up with Redrock to host a huge doll extravaganza this Saturday.
