A huge fire has broken out near the University of Bradford with locals saying they heard a "loud bang" in the early hours of this morning.
At least 18 fire engines are at the scene as firefighters battle the enormous blaze on Legrams Lane, which is near to the university.
Officers have urged residents to shut their doors and windows due to smoke as the fire rages in the city. Pictures emerged on social media in the early hours of Wednesday showing huge plumes of smoke billowing over the city as a fire lit up the sky.
One eyewitness who captured video footage said multiple fire engines were on the scene after local residents were woken up to the blare of sirens.
