The grand final of the Eurovision song contest hit our screens last night, broadcasting live from Liverpool to millions all over the world.And as it was being hosted in the UK, there was a great deal of pressure on our entry - 25-year-old pop singer Mae Muller who took to the stage with her catchy banger I Wrote A Song.
Mae sang from a raised platform wearing a slim, black outfit, accompanied by four dancers in sheer tops, and surprised the audience with a rapped section.
But fans were disappointed when the results were not in the UK's favour. Eurovision Song Contest: all the performances from the singing competition Manchester Evening News reports that the UK was riding high following Sam Ryder's heroic efforts in 2022 when he finished in second place to Ukraine with an impressive 466 points.
The Space Man himself picked up 283 points in the jury vote. But Ukraine won over 400 in the public vote to secure a huge 631 points and win the title.And this year, Mae finished in 25thplace with a total 24.
