After being arrested at her home over five years ago, Lucy Letby has finally been put behind bars for the rest of her life. The nurse was found guilty of seven counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder last week, for the series of horrific crimes she committed at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.
The calculated murderer deliberately caused harm to babies in her care. The horrific acts included injecting air intravenously and administering air and/or milk into the stomach via nasogastric tubes, adding insulin as a poison to intravenous feeds, interferring with breathing tubes and inflicting trauma in some cases.
And now she has become the fourth woman in Britain to have no chance of parole after being sentenced to a life order. After living a seemingly normal life before, Letby will now live the rest of her days in prison.
The 33-year-old has already spent time in four different jails since her arrest but her life from now on is set to be very different, the Mirror reports.
