Kate Middleton and Prince William kept their romance a secret at university with a number of “elaborate decoys”, a Royal expert claimed.
The current Prince and Princess of Wales met at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, in 2001 - white Kate was studying art history and William was working towards a degree in geography.The special moment has been recreated in Netflix ’s Royal drama The Crown in scenes expected to be shown in season six of the show when it airs in the coming months.
But, with the close media scrutiny that comes with being a future King, the pair had to come up with a number of ploys to keep their blossoming relationship on the downlow for as long as possible.
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, William and Kate used some ‘elaborate cover-ups’ to keep their ‘conventional university romance’ under wraps.
