Prince William and Kate Middleton have asked her uncle to tone down his memoir, in case it reignites tensions with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, sources say.
An insider close to the Middletons exclusively told OK! how the Princess of Wales’ mum Carole had reached out to her brother Gary Goldsmith to make sure there are no private family details included in his book - especially as there are concerns that it could prompt another tell-all autobiography by the Duke of Sussex.
Last month, it emerged that Kate’s uncle Gary was writing a book to give the Middleton family a ‘voice’ and to ‘fight back’ against claims made by Harry in his explosive memoir Spare.
However, the threat by the Duke himself that he has enough material to write another book has remained a constant worry for William and Kate, the source told us. “There are disclosures they would never forgive him for if they were ever to be made public,” the insider added. “William and Kate are trying to avoid that at all costs.They don’t want a book to fan the flames which could set Harry off again.” The source added: “Carole has made it very clear that there should be no private family business written about.
