Kate Garraway hasn’t seen her husband for more than two months after he became severely ill with coronavirus. The Good Morning Britain presenter has been married the former Labour adviser since 2005 and they have two children together – Darcey, 14 and William, 11.
But the family have not been allowed to visit him due to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) rules. Derek Draper, 52, is now under the care of hard-working doctors and nurses in ICU as he battles Covid-19.
Kate has to rely on the kind staff to hold up a phone to her husband’s ear so she can talk to him and play music over FaceTime.
Derek was rushed to hospital on March 30 after becoming severely ill with coronavirus. He has been in a coma since mid-April after his condition deteriorated.
