EasyJet’s sudden announcement on Monday that it is closing its bases at Newcastle, Stansted and Southend is causing travel misery on top of hundreds of job losses.
Simon Fitzgerald and his daughter Amber flew to Dubrovnik, Croatia, on Sunday with easyJet, and were due to fly back to Stansted on September 1 – the day the airline has announced that it is shutting its base there.
