Honda is to suspend production at its Swindon-based factory because of a shortage of stock caused by delays in getting parts into Britain in the run-up to Brexit.
The Japanese carmaker said the decision was "due to transport-related parts delays" as ports are hit by demand and coronavirus restrictions.
The plant operates on a "just in time" production system, where parts arrive as and when they are needed. Honda told employees that it is currently experiencing delays and congestion at UK ports.
