The force said his death is not being treated as suspicious as heartbroken soap fans and the 45-year-old's friends and family come to terms with the news.
Dieter was best known for his role as Shane Parrish between 1992 and 1996. He joined Home and Away aged 15 and became a fan favourite, often up to no good as one of the show's young stars.
Now Tristan, 46, who played Tug O'Neale on the long-running Australian show, has posted previously unseen throwback photos of his tragic pal.
