He is currently the co-presenter of This Morning (2002–present) and Dancing on Ice (2006–2014, 2018–present) alongside Holly Willoughby. His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

Holly Willoughby was reduced to tears as she was given a heartwarming birthday surprise when she arrived at the This Morning studios.The blonde bombshell is celebrating turning 40 on Wednesday (10th February) and she became overwhelmed with emotion when she was greeted by her ITV colleagues.Her co-star Phillip Schofield took to Instagram to share video clips of Holly's heartfelt surprise.Phil posted some videos on his Instagram stories as he told his fans: "The birthday girl is about to arrive, everything is ready, she doesn't know about this."Schofield then showed his followers the ITV studios hallway as it was decorated with balloons and Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday was heard in the background.This Morning's backstage crew were standing.
