Manchester City supporters are over the moon to see Kevin De Bruyne return to their matchday squad after his manager Pep Guardiola recalled the fit-again Belgium captain against Sheffield United.
City resume their Premier League campaign against rock-bottom opponents at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon. De Bruyne picked up a hamstring injury on the opening day against Premier League newcomers Burnley and has been missing for nearly five months.
It was initially claimed De Bruyne would return in January after stepping up his recovery in recent weeks, but Guardiola has sprung a surprise with his latest selection.
The 32-year-old has been named on the substitutes bench against the Blades this afternoon. Needless to say, the decision has got supporters bubbling on social media.
