12 and “Sweet Life: Los Angeles” on Aug. 19.“We are ready to celebrate the summer with a new slate of fun, engaging unscripted originals that tell diverse stories and cater to younger audiences,” HBO Max executive vice president Jennifer O’Connell said. “From introducing your next guilty pleasure with ‘FBoy Island’ to showcasing mind-blowing streetwear designs in ‘The Hype’ and spotlighting young people as they navigate life in Los Angeles with ‘Sweet Life: Los Angeles,’ these series each offer viewers a unique, authentic and incredibly entertaining.

50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) is set to make his move into superhero cinema, with the rapper-come-media mogul signing on to produce at least one film based on DC’s Xerø comics.Deadline reports that Jackson will steer the project through his production company, G-Unit Film & Television, in tandem with Color Farm Media’s Erika Alexander and Ben Arnon. Xerø creator Christopher Priest is also linked to the project, with Joseph Illidge – CEO of production and publishing company Illuminous – rounding out the production team. Notable is that the Xerø film will be a wholly independent production, with neither DC nor WarnerMedia involved in the project.
