Boss Enzo Maresca has left the door open for suitors to make their move for Leicester City defender Harry Souttar. But it appears that the path to Rangers has hit a road block with Michael Beale anticipating a quiet end to the window at Ibrox.
Maresca took over the Foxes following their relegation to the English Championship and the Italian immediately bombed centre-back Souttar out of the first-team picture - with the Australia international yet to make a matchday squad in the English second tier this term.
Souttar only made the move to the King Power Stadium for £15million in January but Maresca appears keen to clear out the fringes stars to slim down his squad.
Victor Kristiansen found himself in a similar position to the Socceroo after only penning a deal in the last transfer window - and has been shipped out on loan to Bologna.
