Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane has thanked Jose Mourinho for his work at the club following the manager’s sacking on Monday.
The Portuguese boss was dismissed earlier in the day following a run of poor form in which Spurs won just once in their last six matches.
Kane - who netted both goals in Mourinho’s last match at the helm, a 2-2 draw at Everton - was the first player to release a statement following the departure.
Kane wrote on his Twitter account, accompanied by a photo of the pair: "Thank you for everything, Boss. A pleasure to have worked together. "I wish you all the best for your next chapter."
