Hollywood legend Harrison Ford is set to bring his star power to a new series of adverts for Glenmorangie whisky. The acclaimed Star Wars actor has extolled the virtues of the "unpretentious and amusing" commercials, which offer a glimpse into the production of Glenmorangie Original 12 Years Old and The Infinita 18 Years Old at their home in Tain, Highlands.Joel Edgerton, who appeared in two of the Star Wars movies that didn't feature Ford, directed the episodic films titled 'Once Upon a Time in Scotland'.
The whisky brand hails these as a celebration of "the significance of its home, its craftsmanship and the people that make its award-winning whiskies".Ford features prominently throughout the campaign, engaging with Scottish traditions such as pronunciation challenges and kilt-wearing, while also enjoying the company of locals over a glass of fine single malt.
The ad series showcases regional highlights, including Loch Glass and Ardross Castle — recognized from 'The Traitors' TV series — as well as celebrating the dedicated workers at the distillery, which boasts a venerable 180-year history in whisky production.Accompanying the 12-episode narrative and main film are striking stills from renowned fashion photographer Lachlan Bailey, capturing Ford donned in a Palace streetwear brand kilt.
