Trick-or-treaters will soon swarm the streets in spooky attire, eager for that annual sugar fix. Sweet titan Haribo is known for its beloved Goldbears, Tangfastics, and Starmix assortments, but it’s also taken to releasing spooky limited edition mini bags tailored to the upcoming festive event.
The brand's slogan "kids and grown-ups love it so, the happy world of Haribo" doubles as a handy pronunciation guide, yet it turns out many have been saying the name incorrectly.
Originating from Germany in the 1920s, Hans Riegel Sr established Haribo in Kessenich, Bonn. The name derives from 'Hans', contributing 'ha'; 'Riegel', offering 'ri'; and 'Bonn' providing 'bo', blended to make 'Haribo'.
