It has been a chilly week in Greater Manchester. Sub-zero temperatures were seen across the region as we saw our first snowfall of 2025.
Weather warnings were in place for much of the week with roads and public transport plunged into chaos after ice and snow. Manchester Airport was forced to shut its runways for over an hour on Thursday morning, and iced-up buttons on pedestrian crossings caused tailbacks in Rochdale and Oldham.
While many will have enjoyed the picturesque snow and wintry scenes, there will be some pleased to know that temperatures are set to inch up the thermometer again this weekend.
There are currently no weather warnings in place for Greater Manchester on Saturday (January 11) and Sunday (January 12), and while temperatures will remain cold, it is likely to be milder than over the week.
