Greater Manchester hospitals record 22 further deaths of people with coronavirus

direct to your inbox A further 22 people with coronavirus have died in hospitals in Greater Manchester. It takes the death toll from the virus in the region's hospitals to 3,766.

Each day the NHS gives an update on coronavirus related fatalities at hospital trusts in England. These are cases where the patient has tested positive within 28 days of their death or where Covid-19 is mentioned on their death certificate.They do not include deaths in care homes or community settings.Thirteen of the deaths were recorded by the Pennine Acute NHS Trust which runs North Manchester General, Rochdale Infirmary, Fairfield General and the Royal Oldham hospitals.Three were recorded at the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, with two deaths.
